At Nord Anglia International School Al Khor, we want all children to get the support they need to reach their full learning potential. We have a system which focuses on overcoming barriers to learning with the aim of getting it right for every child. This includes our extra-curricular activities and school visits, which are available to ALL of our students. No student is ever excluded from taking part in these activities because of their SEN.

There is a dedicated SEN department that operates in Nord Anglia International School Al Khor. We have a graduated approach to assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing our methods of teaching children. This starts with Inclusive high quality teaching. This is the expected provision for ALL our students.

Our teachers plan for and deliver suitable learning challenges, respond to students’ diverse learning needs and include all learners by overcoming potential barriers to learning and assessment.

As required, we offer additional interventions to enable children to work at age related expectations or above. Rigorous assessment and target setting will highlight students’ attainment. Analysis of the data will identify any student falling below or working above expectations. Our SEN department will work in consultation with staff, parents and students to devise specific timed intervention strategies.

If time limited intervention strategies are not showing improved attainment, additional highly personalised interventions will, in consultation with staff, parents, student and external agencies, be devised in collaboration with the SEN department.
